Hey Bushy Park Families,
Coming to you live from vacation! Keeping it short and sweet this week — here’s a quick update for the week ahead:
🎨 New this week, it's Reflections Time! 🎶
Calling all Bushy Park Bears: It’s your chance to shine! The PTA Reflections Contest is here, and this year’s theme is “I Belong.”
🌟 Categories: dance, film, literature, music, photography, and visual arts
📅 Entries due: Nov. 24, 2025
🏆 Top 3 move on to county, then state, then NATIONALS!
Every participant gets recognition, and BPES will award the top entries. Flyers with details are coming home soon, or check the PTA website. So grab your paintbrush, pen, camera—or just your imagination—and show us how YOU belong!
🍦 Taharka Brothers Ice Cream Fundraiser – Starts October 6 TOMORROW Order pints straight to your doorstep and support the PTA. Can't eat a case? Split one with a friend—or don’t. We won’t tattle on how many pints disappear before the kids find them. Will I be ordering ice cream from the peak of Space Mountain tomorrow? You betcha! Get yours, too!
Reminders from last week:
🎃 Fall Fest & Trunk-or-Treat – Friday, October 24, 4:30–8:00 PM
Join us for a fun-filled evening of games, activities, and a Trunk-or-Treat. Kids can enjoy costumes and festive fun! More info & RSVP. Can't sponsor a trunk? No worries, feel free to drop off donations of candy or order off the wishlist to help out those who are. NEW THIS YEAR the trunk or treat will be open to those in PreK, RECC, or who need all the fun with less hullabaloo from 4:30-5. We will welcome the rest of our friends at 5 PM, and as always, the fields close at sunset.
🏃♀️ Bushy Bear Dash – Saturday, November 15, 10:00 AM–12:00 PM
Our biggest fundraiser of the year! Register now for the 3K or 1-mile fun run. Adults can join the fun too, and don't miss the costumed "Extra Fun Run" at 11:30 AM. There's still time to sponsor if you want your logo on our extra cool race shirts
📚 Spots available for Library checkouts and makerspace, tell your friends and don't forget to sign up- makerspace will not happen without parent volunteers this year.
✂️ We’re always looking for office volunteers to help with tasks like copying, assembling games, and organizing materials. It’s a small act that has a big impact for our teachers and students, and even an hour makes a difference!
