Hi Bushy Park Families,

Can you believe October is winding down? This week we have a super exciting spirit night, a half day so you can enjoy spooky fun with yet MORE candy, and then the biggest fright of all- daylight savings time next weekend! Soon it will be Thanksgiving and a brand new year! Before we get too ahead of ourselves, keep reading to see what fun things we have in store for y'all!

💛 A Hearty Thank You!

A huge, heartfelt thank you to our amazing Fall Fest chairs, Christina Y. and Victoria M., for creating such a wonderful community event!

We’re so grateful to all the parents who hosted trunks, dressed up, handed out candy, or showed up to join the fun; you made it magical. Everyone went home happy, sugared up, and, most importantly, with an incredible sense of community. 🧡

🌳 Students Branching Out – Tuesday, October 28

On Tuesday, our 4th and 5th grade students will take part in the Students Branching Out program, planting 85 native trees right here on our school grounds! This initiative not only increases tree canopy coverage in our county, but also gives students a meaningful, hands-on environmental education experience combining classroom lessons about native species, forest health, and proper planting techniques with the real work of digging in and planting.

👉 Reminder: Send your student in warm clothes that can get a little dirty that day.

🌮 Taco Tuesday Spirit Night – October 28

Join us at El Azteca on Tuesday for a delicious Spirit Night! Take a night off from cooking and support BPES at the same time. 🌮💙

👻 Half Day Friday!

It’s still everyone's favorite time of year, Spooky Gym, so kids can get those last wiggles out before Halloween! And don’t forget — Friday, October 31 is a half day. Filled with candy. Ahead of daylight savings... Hoping everyone's coffee game is strong this weekend.

🐾 Bushy Bear Dash – Registration Continues!

Whether your race shirt arrives in time or not, everyone can join the fun! You’ll still have chances to win awesome prizes from our generous sponsors, or school parties for top classes! Whether you're young, or young at heart, we have a need for volunteers on race day!

🎨 New Event: K–2 Art Night!

📅 Thursday, November 20 | 6:30–7:30 PM | BPES

Get ready to paint, create, and get BEARY CREATIVE with our favorite art teachers, Mr. Van Meter and Mr. Hopkins! This special night is just for our Kindergarten–2nd grade Bears to enjoy a guided art activity and take home their own masterpiece. This is not a drop off event, and parents will not only get the chance to help their artists, but to really experience what it's like to be in a class with one of our fan favorites! Have older kids? Don't worry, they'll get their chance to create this spring in a special event just for them!

Reflections is open! Encourage your student to express themselves through art, writing, dance, or film.
