The SUNday Scoop, May 31 edition- Goodbye May, Hello June!
Happy Sunday Bushy Park Families!
And what a Sunday it is! This week finally delivered the spring weather we've been waiting for. After what felt like a sudden jump from winter straight to the surface of the sun before falling into the East Coast's version of Seattle, the sunshine, cool breezes, and blue skies were a welcome reminder of why spring is such a favorite season.
As we finally, after the 327 long days of May, turn the calendar to June we can officially say we've survived MayCember. Between concerts, field trips, spirit days, performances, celebrations, volunteer events, and everything in between, the month flew by in a blur of calendars, carpools, and coffee refills. If your family has been running from one event to the next, you're certainly not alone! This week, though full of schedule changes, was extra fun as we thank Erin K. and Elizabeth B. for their work in scheduling Friday's Assembly and Demonstration of wheelchair basketball. We aren't sure who enjoyed it more, the kids or the staff. Did your child score a 3 pointer? Be sure to ask them about it!
Believe it or not, there are just 14 school days remaining for the 2025-2026 school year! While the finish line is in sight, we're not slowing down yet. The next few weeks are packed with some of the most memorable events of the year. So take a moment to enjoy this beautiful weather, soak in these final weeks of the school year, and keep those calendars handy. We still have lots of fun, excitement, and school spirit heading our way before summer officially begins!
Here's everything you need to know for the week(s) ahead, or the TL/DR section for those of you who skip right to it:
Wednesday June 3- Ice Cream Social and final PTA meeting of the year- we will be approving our summer budget so get your sugar fix and help us set up our summer for success. This event is absolutely free, siblings are welcome.
Tuesday June 9- 5th grade party at Red Barn Ranch. Registration is open, reach out to the Fifth Grade Committee or room parent if you have any questions.
Wednesday June 10- Spirit Day at Rosies! Grab your caffeine or sub fix and don't forget to mention BPES PTA.
Thursday June 11- End of Year Carnival from 6-8 at BPES. Games, local organizations and clubs, crafts, food trucks including Fireside Pizza and The Snowy Spoon, tickets for using the inflatables are $5 for now but will increase TOMORROW.
All kids using the inflatables need to have a wristband and waiver. We will be utilizing attendants at all inflatable stations this year for increased safety measures for all our children.
Interested in promoting your clubs or orgs outside of BPES? We have vendor spots open on the ticket page.
Thursday June 18- Last Day of School and Last Spirit Day at The Snowball Stand! From 4-7 PM, 10% of all proceeds will be donated back to the BPES PTA.
How are we doing? Fill out the survey and let us know your thoughts!
We're almost there, Bushy Park Families. We're close enough to smell the sunscreen, but far enough away that we still need three calendar alerts and a backup plan. Whether you're racing to the finish or coasting in on fumes, you made it and we are here cheering you on the whole way. See you all soon!
