Happy Sunday, Bushy Park Families! Is it just us, or is summer somehow both flying by and taking approximately 47 years to finish?
One minute you're celebrating the last day of school, and the next you're wondering how the kids have already eaten every snack in the house, why there are six wet towels on the floor, and whether it's possible for a refrigerator to go on strike. Summer may be short, but it certainly knows how to make its presence known.
While you're busy restocking the pantry and pretending not to notice the phrase "I'm bored" creeping back into daily conversation, your PTA has been hard at work getting ready for another amazing school year.

Coming Soon! We're easing back into school mode with a few opportunities to reconnect before the first day.
July 30, Kindergarten Playdate- two available time slots, please see the flyer and don't forget to register.
August 18, Tuesday, 4-6 PM- Popsicles on the Playground, join the PTA if you haven't already and stick around at 6:15 to help us pass the budget for next year. Located on the blacktop and cafeteria.
August 20, Thursday, 10-12- Chalk the Walk with us to get ready for school! Stony man coffee and donuts will be on hand again to fuel us up with coffee and large quantities of sugar. Teachers and staff, we've got your backs with a special teacher hour before kids arrive, just in case you're not quite ready yet
August 21, Friday- Bushy Park open house, a chance to meet your teacher, see your friends (and your PTA), drop off school supplies, and maybe even take a few pictures. Schedule from BPES:
Pre School: Friday, August 21, from 10:00 a.m.–10:30 a.m.
Kindergarten: Friday, August 21, from 10:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m.
Pre K: Friday, August 21, from 11:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
ALS Sensory-Friendly: Friday, August 21, from 11:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
New Student Orientation (Grades 1-5): Friday, August 21, from 1:30 p.m.–2:00 p.m.
Open House (Grades 1-5): Friday, August 21, from 2:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m.
Reminder, if you- like me- haven't bought any School Supplies yet, you can order the bundle and support your PTA at the same time.
Back-to-School Picnic & Community Night
Mark your calendars for Thursday, September 3 from 6:00–8:00 PM as we kick off the school year with our Back-to-School Picnic and Community Night.
We're currently planning this event and would love your help! If you'd like to join the planning committee, know of a local community organization that might be interested in participating, or have a student entrepreneur or educator who would like a table, we'd love to hear from you.
As always, additional events and dates can be found on our website. If last winter taught us anything, it's that calendars are really more of a suggestion than a guarantee. We'll keep you posted there, in the scoop, and on socials if Mother Nature, construction projects, or the occasional plot twist change our plans.
Until then, enjoy the sunshine, make some memories, and maybe buy an extra box of snacks. Trust us on that last one.
