Sunday Scoop, the August 23 edition: Return of the Scoop

Happy Sunday Bushy Park Families! 

It's the last day of summer break and if you sung any part of that header, you are remember-to-stretch-before-chasing-kids-to-the-bus-stop years old.  Because do you know what tomorrow is?!  

That's right, School is BACK, ALRIGHT!!  Are the backpacks packed?  Noooo.  Have we found our shoes? Noooo.  Am I organized?  No way.  Am I going to continue with this song parody?  Well honestly I lost steam 5 minutes ago because summer has been both long, short, and everything in between.  But tomorrow?  Tomorrow we will paste on a smile whether we're team boohoo or yahoo.  We will set 14 alarms, take 28 first-day pictures just to find one with eyes open and looking in the correct direction.  And we will send those beautiful little (semi-feral) summer creatures back to Bushy Park!

If you have friends who haven't joined the PTA yet, remember forwarding these emails is a socially acceptable form of peer pressure.  Not even the first day of school and we are already 109 members strong!  

TL/DR?  Here's your chance to still know what you're talking about!

• Monday August 24 - First Day of School!  Or international boohoo/yahoo day.  We did it!  We survived summer!  All the feelings are completely valid or optional.  

• Wednesday August 26 - Spirit Day at Rosie's Delicatessen!

• Thursday August 27 - First day for PreK/Pre-S Students

• Tuesday September 1 - First Full PTA meeting

  • Hybrid as usual, in the media center from 6:30-7:30

• Thursday September 3, 6:00 - 8:00 - Back to School Picnic & Community Night - 

  • This year features a student lead section of future entrepreneurs and educators.  Have a special interest or make a craft you want to sell?  Register here for free, table rental available for $5.  Older siblings of current BPES families are welcome to register as well.

• Monday September 7 - No School, our first 3 day weekend!

• Tuesday September 8 - Back to School Night for grades 1-3

  • 6 pm at Bushy Park, reminder that this event is for the adults 

• Thursday September 10 - Back to School Night for Grades 4 and 5

  • GT at 5:30

So, enjoy this One Day More, soak up a few extra minutes in the pool, and have ice cream for dinner.  All the routines we've been ignoring for the last few weeks will be waiting for us tomorrow.
