Hello Bushy Park Families,

Can you believe September is flying by? So far this year... er, month, we have wrapped up our membership drive and welcomed 16 sponsored faculty and staff members!

It’s been wonderful to see our community come together. A huge thank-you to all of our PTA members, your support makes such a difference. We’re also incredibly grateful for the many teachers and staff who have joined the PTA this year. Having your voices at the table makes our work even stronger.

Here’s what’s coming up:

🌍 Celebrating Together

The next few weeks, members of our Bushy Park community are observing a number of important holidays. We wish a Shana Tovah to those celebrating Rosh Hashanah, and a Shubh Navratri to those celebrating Navratri.. May these holidays bring joy, reflection, and a sense of togetherness to all.

🚫 No School – Tuesday, 9/23

🎬 Family Movie Night – Friday, 9/26

The Bushy Park PTA is excited to invite families to our Family Movie Night. We’ll be showing Disney’s Lilo and Stitch on the blacktop—bring the whole family for a fun evening under the stars! Free for PTA families, $5 for non-members. Pizza and other concessions available for purchase while supplies last.

🍴 Restaurant Day @ Walker’s Tap & Table – Monday, 9/29

Dine-in or carry-out – just be sure to show this flyer (print or mobile) to your server, or mention the fundraiser when ordering for carry-out.

🐻 PTA Meeting – Tuesday, 9/30 (we’d love to see you there!)

Bushy Park Elementary School, media center- doors open at 6:15, meeting at 6:30. Hybrid available, in person attendees will be automatically entered into the raffle for a fun door prize!

🏃‍♀️ Bushy Bear Dash Registration is OPEN!

Join us on Saturday, November 15, from 10am–12pm for Bushy Park’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Proceeds support PTA programs for our students all year long.

Choose your course on race day—a 3K or 1-mile fun run—and walk, run, skip, or boogie your way through! Adults and kids are all welcome. Can’t attend? You can still register, get your swag, and support the school.

✨ New this year:

Flat registration fee for children & adults (includes a t-shirt!)

Students may still collect donations; top classes and grades will earn rewards

Local businesses can sponsor the Dash and have their logo featured on race shirts, and more! Help us spread the word!

Tons of race day fun including the new extra-fun run for adults- the Costume Race add-on at 11:30!

💡 We’re always looking for office volunteers to help with tasks like copying, assembling games, and organizing materials. It’s a small act that has a big impact for our teachers and students, and even an hour makes a difference!

📚 Spots available for Library checkouts and makerspace, training available Monday Sept 29 @3:30pm or Tuesday Sept 30 @8:30am. If you are unable to attend, reach out to Mrs. Care or Mrs. Davis.
