Sunday Scoop, September 13 Edition: picture day, sneak peaks, and so much more
Happy Sunday Bushy Park Families!
Another week in the books, and it was so much fun seeing everyone at Back to School Night. As much as I love sending emails into the void each week, it is always a pleasure to actually see you all in person. The school would love your feedback about Back to School Night formatting, so please take a minute to share your thoughts here.
This is your friendly reminder that Picture Day is TOMORROW Monday, September 14! If you completely forgot to preorder pictures, fear not, you'll still have an opportunity to order them after the fact. I am firmly in this boat. Despite receiving the Picture Day paper IN TRIPLICATE, I have somehow lost all three copies, a truly impressive display of organizational prowess.So send them in tomorrow looking however you'd like to remember this particular stage of childhood. Hair brushed? Amazing. Matching clothes? Overachiever. Shirt on right-side-out? We're calling it a win.
We may no longer be able to casually pop into school for lunch, but volunteering gives us the perfect excuse to sneak a peek, steal a quick hug, or receive absolutely no acknowledgment whatsoever from the child who was begging us not to leave the house 20 minutes earlier. More importantly, it's a great way to meet other families, get to know our staff, and help make our BPES community truly Out of This World! Currently we are signing up for second grade resources and library book check out.
There's plenty more to come, Bushy Park! After school activities are now currently enrolling for Drums, Soccer, Track, and Girls on the Run. HCRP is also offering several after school activities you can find here. Returning again next month, our second annual Taharka Bros ice cream sale benefitting the PTA. This year we will have all cases available for pickup at BPES only. Stay tuned for more details.

Free for PTA members and their families, $5 for nonmembers

Wednesday October 7, General PTA meeting at Bushy Park
Doors open at 6:15, meeting at 6:30 will be hybrid
Guest Speaker: Lindsay Unger, Chair of PTAHC Technology Committee
Thursday October 15, Fall Fest and Trunk or Treat
Feed the candy monsters is LIVE, upstairs grades vs downstairs grades can feed the monsters with candy or small trinkets from now through Oct 1. The grades with the most donations by weight will win music at lunch! All donations will be used to offset parent's candy needs during the Trunk or Treat event.

Saturday November 14, The Bushy Bear Dash
Our fearless planning committee has been hard at work finalizing the details, but we are still looking for family or community sponsors. Know anyone interested? Send them our way!
Registration will open in the next few weeks, participants on the day of will get the first chances to shop at our fall book fair!
Whew, you have officially survived the Sunday Scoop information dump. Reminders were reminded, save-the-dates were saved, calendars were filled, and we added at least 3 things you may need to remember. For now, go enjoy the rest of your Sunday, pretend you didn’t see the laundry, and maybe give yourself a little gold star for making it through the Scoop.
