Sunday Scoop, October 18 edition: Let the candy fueled chaos continue

Happy Sunday Bushy Park Families!

First, a huge thank-you to our Trunk-or-Treat team Dora T, Autumn S., and Nicci C. for all their hard work organizing and executing Friday's event!  The weather may have brought the chills, but our Bushy Park community brought the thrills.  

To our amazing trunk hosts, volunteers, and everyone who came out to celebrate with us, thank you for braving the elements and taking all this candy off our hands!   From the creative trunks and costumes to the candy, games, and happy chaos, it was wonderful to see so many families show up and make the evening special. Events like these take a lot of planning and a whole lot of helping hands, and we're so grateful to everyone who made it happen!

Now, take a breath, warm up (consider turning on the heat), and get ready, because the Bushy Bear Dash is less than a month away, and registration is in full swing! Our biggest fundraiser of the year is coming up Saturday, November 14, from 2:00–4:00 PM, and we want to see as many Bushy Bears as possible out there running, walking, cheering, and celebrating together.  

Here's a friendly reminder to register by this week to absolutely positively guarantee your Dash Shirt will be available before race day.  This year's shirts come in short and long sleeved options.  Register your BPES student first so any of your adult registrations or donations get credited to their class.  

And this year, there's even more reason to get your class and grade excited! The classes with the highest registration numbers and the highest fundraising totals will each earn a pizza party donated by Ledo's Pizza! So whether your family is running, walking, or fundraising, every registration and every dollar helps your class climb the leaderboard. Don't forget to select your child's homeroom teacher when registering!

Can't make it on race day? You can still be part of the fun by joining the Cheer Squad! Cheer Squad registration gets you a Dash shirt, and you can purchase raffle tickets, too. Even if you're cheering from the sidelines instead of hitting the course, your support still counts toward our fundraising efforts and your student's class and grade totals. It's a win-win: school spirit, a shirt, and a chance at some fantastic prizes!

Speaking of prizes, our Dash raffle is shaping up to be a good one. Check out the raffle ticket sales page on Givebacks for the full lineup, and consider grabbing a few extra tickets. From local experiences like a Paint-your-own mug from our friends at Pottery Stop, and family favorites to treats- like Shake Shack for two-, gifts, and special Bushy Park experiences like principal's assistant for the day, there's plenty to get excited about. Every registration includes one raffle ticket, with additional tickets available for purchase.
