Happy Sunday, Bushy Bear families!
We made it through another week of Maycember, the magical time of year when everyone is running on snack packs and caffeine, but summer still feels just out of reach. Especially on a rainy and cold Memorial Day Weekend. It's weird to be typing this in sweats and rain boots instead of prepping for a BBQ, but we persist. Hopefully so do my tomato plants.
Before we look ahead, a huge thank you to our incredible PE department, Ms. Z and Mr. Cjasko, for putting together another absolutely fantastic Field Day! While the weather kept us all reapplying sunscreen and making sure everyone stayed hydrated, the day still delivered exactly what our students needed: movement, laughter, teamwork, and memories. Thank you for all the planning, flexibility, and energy that made it happen.
As we turn the page toward June, the good news is… there’s no slowing down yet. This week may feel a little wonky as we have no school Monday. To save you from the kitchen, we have a spirit night at Barrington Tap and Table Tuesday. Wednesday we have no school again and wish an Eid Mubarack to all our friends and families who are celebrating. I wish I could tell you it's back to our regular schedules after that, but if your family is anything like mine then the schedule fell victim to Maycember ages ago and quit in protest. The final weeks of school are packed with all the traditions and celebrations that make this season special: End of Year Party & Carnival, grade-level celebrations and milestone moments, final classroom activities and countdowns, and all the joy (read: chaos) that comes with wrapping up another incredible school year.
TL/DR Or just need to flip back to the hilights for future reference? I'm here to help (you get as much or as little out of these emails as you need). Read on for more!
