Sunday Scoop- January 18 edition: Snow on the Ground, Plans on the Horizon

Happy Sunday Bushy Park Families!

This past week felt like a well earned sigh of relief. After a stretch of busy days (AND the holidays), it was a calmer, more relaxing week around school, which we happily welcomed even if the weather was afraid to commit to any one season.  It's too early in the year to be winter in the morning, spring in the afternoon, and then snow the next day.

As a reminder, we have officially checked off the last Monday of school for the month of January .  Whether you are celebrating the (many) long weekends or white knuckling your way through, enjoy the extra time in any way that's meaningful to you.  Keep up with the calendar here.

Another quick reminder, we are always on the lookout for extra hands, both for PTA events and school.  Check out available committees, or in school opportunities.  Together we shine is more than a tagline, we really couldn't do this without you!

• January 23:  Talent Show from 6-8 PM, BPES cafeteria

• January 26:  Restaurant Night at EW Becks 7565 Main St, Sykesville, MD

• January 27:  Math Night, don't forget to RSVP here

• January 29:  Virtual Volunteer Fair at 1pm online

• February 3:  PTA meeting, hybrid.  We will also be asking for parent help with a special surprise for the kids on the 100th day of school. More details to come!

• February 6: Sweetheart Dance, 6:30-8:30.  RSVP early as space is limited or volunteer.

• February 12:  Sound Bowl, Parent's Night Out!  Destress and register here

• February 27:  The Science Fair, register your project or volunteer. This is also STEM night. 

As we turn the calendar page, there’s plenty to look forward to in the weeks ahead: new events, fresh energy, (more sunlight!) and lots of opportunities to come together as a community.
