Sunday Scoop, January 11 edition - Whew, what a week!

Hello Bushy Park families,

Whew… what a week! 

Between getting back into routines, early mornings, packed calendars, and all the feels that come with diving back into the swing of things, we just want to say: you’re doing great. Truly. Give yourself a high five (or at least an extra cup of coffee).  Bonus points if you managed a nap on this weird weather weekend.

Before we look ahead, we must pause for a HUGE shout-out to everyone who made Bingo Night such an amazing event!  Giant shoutout to Tara B and Jen I for their incredible job organizing the event; from the planning to the pacing to the prizes and decorations (I couldn’t come up with another “p” word guys, I swear I tried) this night was pure perfection.  Of course, it wouldn’t be Family Bingo Night without how it brings our community together.  Another thank you to our teachers and staff who cheered us all on by distributing prizes, calling Bingo, and generally pumping up the energy in the room—it was an absolute joy to see our community together, laughing, cheering, and having a blast. Thank you to our NJHS Volunteers, many of whom are BPES Alums. This is what “Together We Shine” looks like in action!

Another pause to shout out our wonderful students who submitted their art to the Reflections Contest.  Please check our website to see all their beautiful work, and a huge congrats to the students who are moving on to the next phase of competition.

 Volunteer Needs

·  Check out our committee openings and needs here | we always need additional committee members—many hands make light work.

·  Not sure where to start?  We will be having a virtual volunteer fair January 28 so you can learn more!

·  The school is also interested in volunteers for the front office, makerspace, and media checkout

·   The Nurses office has requested volunteers to assist with walking students to and from vision screenings next month, find the signup here.

As always, thank you for showing up for our school, our kids, and each other—especially during those first weeks back when everything feels like a lot. We’re so glad you’re part of this community.
