Happy Sunday Bushy Park Families!
Well, just like that, the first week of school is officially in the books, and we made it through mostly unscathed. The house was quieter. The pantry was somehow fuller. And at least a couple of us were asleep by 7:00 p.m. on that first day. Whether those were children or adults is really no one's business (spoiler alert: it was me).
A huge shoutout to all of our parents and caregivers who showed up with smiles even if there were a few tears once the kids disappeared through those doors. We missed them! We enjoyed the silence! Two things can be true at the same time!
An even bigger shoutout to our incredible teachers and staff, who jumped right back into the beautiful chaos and somehow sent everyone home with smiles. You kept it real, kept it fun (dare I say real fun?), and made that first week feel a little easier for everyone. One week down, 180 days to go. We remember how to do this now. Mostly.
Calling all volunteers! The first grade team is looking for a few volunteers to help make letter boards next week. Sign up here. Not a first grade family but still want to volunteer? We would love to have you, indicate your interest here or reply to this email. We will be sending out info for Library and Makerspace Volunteers soon, and Bushy Boutique signups were sent out in Bear Tracks on Friday.
Don't worry, the PTA is hard at work with another fun week. Want to know what's coming up without reading this entire email? Well, welcome to the TL/DR section friends!
