Sunday Scoop, April 12 edition: The Scoop That Almost Wasn't

Happy SUNday Bushy Park Families!
I’ll be honest, this Scoop nearly didn’t happen. Between blue skies, sunshine, and the siren's lure of my garden, sitting down to write barely stood a chance. There are beds to prep, bermuda grass staging a hostile takeover of MULTIPLE areas (rude), and that one hydrangea I’m still not convinced survived false spring #2.
Since spring may actually be making its full time return, we (and by we I mean me and at least one recalcitrant child who was voluntold while waiting to play uber driver to yet more children) made a survey of our tree planting from the fall. Some of the trees are slowly waking up from their long winter's nap but the redbuds are putting on a show. If you, like many others, are doing sportsball on the BPES fields, remember to take a look around and see if you can spot your tree!
Fun fact, Wednesday is no longer a full-day stay at home and ask for snacks every 10 minutes day. Remember that as part of the ongoing calendar changes due to last season's winter weather, April 15 is now a 3 hour early dismissal. Keeps the chaos manageable, at least at my house. And the best part? There’s still so much ahead. Warmer days, more time outside, upcoming events, and all the little things that (hopefully) keep you reading these emails.
Yearbook Sales wrap up this week! If you are interested in getting a yearbook, don't forget to order by Friday April 17. Can't remember if you already ordered? Well, that's so relatable that there's an entire section on the website where you can double check yourself. I feel so seen.
Spirit Night, EW BECKS- Monday April 13. Don't forget to show this flyer or mention BPES for all dine in or carryout orders. Skip cooking, come hang with us and enjoy a spring evening on Main Street.
Belonging Night is coming up on April 24! Join us for a celebration of the Bushy Park community, host a table and share what makes your family or group unique. Book fair is coming April 27-May 1! We cannot hold the book fair without adult volunteers at the register, sign up today and make co-chairs Erin and Cindy VERY happy.
Fifth Grade Yard Signs to celebrate your 5th grade grads! Order today, funds go directly to the 5th grade end of year party (Save the date for June 9).

Spring Yard Sale! It’s time to start clearing out, sorting through, and asking ourselves the tough questions like “Do I really need this?” and “Why do we own so many of that?” Yard sale prep has begun, which means hidden treasures, long-lost items, and at least one “how did this even get here?” Sign up for your slot today, the sale will be on May 9 during Bushy Blooms Pickup.
Whether you spent your weekend being productive, relaxing, or getting distracted by literally anything other than your to-do list…you’re in good company. Here’s to a week full of sunshine, small wins, and maybe finishing at least one thing we started. Maybe.
