Gearing up for Back to School

Hi Bushy Park Families,

We hope your summer has been full of fun and relaxation — and believe it or not, we’re already in the home stretch!

As we gear up for another amazing school year, we wanted to share some exciting events and ways you can get involved before the first day of school.  Whether you're a familiar face or new to the BPES family, we are so happy you're here!

There’s lots of fun and excitement coming up before school officially begins, and we’d love for you to be part of it:

Staff Welcome Breakfast – Thursday, August 14

Let’s show our incredible staff some love with a fantastic breakfast to kick off their first day back! Thanks to our Big Bear Sponsor, Rosie’s Delicatessen, we’ll be serving a hot meal and coffee but we’d love to offer some more options for our amazing staff. Items can be dropped off at the front office all next week.📝 Sign up to donate or help out

Popsicles on the Playground – Monday, August 18 from 4:00–6:00 PM

Join us for a sweet treat and a chance to connect with other families before the school year begins. Kids play, parents mingle — everyone wins!

PTA Budget Meeting – Monday, August 18 at 6:15 PM (immediately after popsicles event)

We’ll review and vote on the 2025–2026 PTA budget, as a hopefully short and sweet beginning to the new PTA year.  Meeting will be hybrid, so feel free to stay after the popsicle event or zoom in from anywhere.  All members are welcome!

Chalk the Walk – Thursday, August 21 from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM

Come help us decorate the front sidewalks with cheerful messages and artwork to welcome students and staff on the first day of school. We’re excited to have Stonyman Coffee and Donuts joining us this year — they’ll be on site slinging delicious drinks and treats while we chalk!

Bushy Park Open House – Friday, August 22

Come meet your child’s teacher, tour the classroom, drop off your school supplies and get excited for a great school year ahead.  Schedule available on the BPES website.  The PTA board will be on hand in case you have questions, or want to sign up.  New this year, you can sponsor a staff membership as a way to give back during signup!

Whether you're helping from home, attending events, or simply cheering us on, we’re so grateful to have you as part of the Bushy Park PTA family. Let’s kick off another amazing year — together.
