Science Fair 2020
Calling all young scientists!
The BPES Annual Science Fair is March 11, 2020.
It is time to prepare for the Annual Science Fair at Bushy Park Elementary School Get all the info here!
All students in PreK-5th grade are encouraged to participate by conducting a science experiment at home and making a display board. Students will bring their display boards to school the morning of March 11, 2020 and will briefly present their projects to judges and other students during the school day. During the evening, students, families & friends will have the opportunity to view all the projects, followed by a Science Show & an Awards Ceremony!
Students may work on an individual independent project OR work on a project with a partner in the same grade at Bushy Park Elementary School. If two students are working together on a project, both students need to complete a registration form or register online.
NEED ADVICE about picking a project? The best topics come from each student’s own curiosity about how things work. Please review the Science Fair Handbook that includes project topic suggestions, tips on doing a project & making the poster (display board), details about the Fair and useful websites.
JUDGING & AWARDS
The goal of our Science Fair is to encourage scientific exploration & discovery and a passion for learning science. Each young scientist will have an opportunity to briefly present their project to judges and classmates during the school day. All young scientists will receive a special Science Fair Certificate & Medal, and outstanding projects will be recognized during an evening Awards Ceremony on the day of the Fair.
If you have any questions contact Chairwoman, Dina Goldman, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
JUDGES & VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
The Science Fair would not be possible without the help of numerous volunteers. Please consider being a science fair judge. NO SCIENCE EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY! Judging is a great way to interact with our wonderful students and is always a lot of fun. There are several additional volunteer needs so if you can spare an hour or two on the day of the Science Fair, your time would be much appreciated. Please contact the Science Fair Volunteer Coordinator at email@example.com and SIGN UP NOW.
DOCUMENTS & INFORMATION
REGISTER to participate
All young scientists wishing to display a project at the Science Fair need to have a parent register online via this website, registration form set home with students to the student’s teacher or print the registration form and submit the completed form to their teacher.
PROJECTS should be student driven. Project ideas should come from the students, and the project should be driven by them. Parents should use their best judgment and provide some guidance, but it is important that students consider the project their own.
“The scientific mind does not so much provide the right answers as ask the right questions.” – Isaac Newton
