Chair/Co-Chair Responsibilities

Assemble a team (and/or add co-chairs) to help you plan and execute this memorable event. The Sweetheart Dance, replaced the Daddy Daughter Dance in 2019, and was held on Friday, February 8, 2019 from 7-8:30pm for all Bushy Park families. The theme for 2019 was Tiaras & Crowns and featured nut-free refreshments (assorted desserts, a candy bar, vegetables, fruit, water bottles) crafts, a raffle, an acoustic musician, a DJ, a photo booth and official photos by Mrs. Ketterer. In order to offset the cost of the event, the chair obtained corporate sponsorships from local businesses. Sponsors were featured in pre-event emails, Facebook posts, event signage, program and post-event communications. The chair (and team) are responsible for creating and working with school staff to distribute event communications (Example: student and staff invitations, post-event survey, etc.) and collecting/processing registrations (Example: completing required PTA financial forms for delivery to PTA Treasurer). The chair (and team) are responsible for working with vendors (Example: negotiating vendor cost and working with PTA President for compliance).


Volunteer Opportunities

  • Decorations & Set-up

  • Reception Table: Welcome guests and confirm registration

  • Snack Tables: Set-up snack tables before dance and restock items as needed

  • Candy Bar: Set-up candy bar before dance, restock items, and assist children as needed

  • Dessert Tables: Set-up dessert tables before dance and restock items as needed

  • DJ Assistant: Help DJ distribute prizes

  • Craft Tables: Set-up craft table before dance, restock items and assist children as needed

  • Game Tables: Supervise game tables

  • Clean-up: Clean-up after the dance

  • Book Nook: Set-up book nook and assist children as needed

  • Event Photographer: In addition to Mrs. Ketterer's Photo Op Stop and the Photo Booth, a volunteer may photograph the different stations before and during the event. These photos will help provide a record of the event and guidance for future school events.

  • Mrs. K's Photo Op Stop Assistant: After guests have had their picture taken by Mrs. Ketterer, please direct them to the photo booth.
