Dear Parent,

Did you know that the plastic in each printer cartridge takes more than 1,000 years to decompose, or that 1.5 million cartridges go to land fills each month? Our school is now participating in the Green School Project, a program that reduces this incredible waste and earns money for our school. We now collect empty printer, fax, and copier cartridges as well as cell phones for recycling. Please feel free to send students to school with these items to be deposited in the Green School Project collection box.

Also, your work place can help our school by recycling their used cartridges and cell phones. Green School Project will pick up cartridges and cell phones from your business and the dollars will go to our school. If this is of interest, please call 1.877.882.5032 or visit www.greenschoolproject.com

Thank you in advance for helping our school and our environment through this program.

CARTRIDGES AND CELL PHONES WE RECYCLE

WE ACCEPT AND PAY FOR ALL BRANDS OF CARTRIDGES AND CELL PHONES

Our state-of-the-art recycling facility in Erie, PA accepts all makes and models of ink cartridges and cell phones (not just items on a list). We can pay for EVERY brand including Epson and remanufactured items.

On average, we pay $1.50 per item. To check the price on a specific model, or to receive updated pricing info, please email us at support@greenschoolproject.com.

Keep those empty printer cartridges, toners and used cell phones coming!!! We've already made $125 this year towards new cartridges for our children and kept 125 pounds of waste out of the landfills. Help the environment
and our school by placing your used printer and fax cartridges, and cell phones in the blue trash can outside the cafetorium.

If you have large amounts of cartridges or any questions feel free to call Sue Caulfield at 410-489-7887.

Did you know?--Last year we kept over 800 pounds of trash out of the landfills and made over $800 in the process. This year, we've recycled 165 items and turned in 100 items that can be reused without being recycled.

Teachers and parents- feel free to visit the recycling website for ideas about "green" lesson plans to do at home or in the classroom. Lessons include a recycling survey and a decomposition lesson for both K-3 and 4-6 graders. The website is greenschoolproject.com
